Special screening of the film 'STRIKE – An Uncivil War: The battle that changed Britain forever' directed by Daniel Gordon, followed by a Q&A and book signing of 'An Uncivil War: The Battle of Orgreave' by Michael Donald and Daniel Gordon.
Daniel Gordon is a British documentary director, best known for his double BAFTA-winning EMMY nominated and critically acclaimed feature documentary ‘Hillsborough’, which is the definitive account of the Hillsborough Stadium Disaster.
Daniel’s previous films include a trio of groundbreaking documentaries from North Korea, including Crossing The Line (Jury Prize nominated, Sundance Film Festival), feature documentary 9.79*, which investigates the infamous and controversial 1988 Olympic Men’s 100m final, won by Canadian sprinter Ben Johnson, who was subsequently stripped of his gold medal after testing positive for performance enhancing drugs (Premiere: Toronto International Film Festival) and George Best: All By Himself (Premiere London Film Festival).
His documentary The Australian Dream opened the 2019 Melbourne Film Festival, grossed AUS$1.1m and won 11 awards including Audience Awards at Melbourne, Hawaii and Philadelphia Film Festivals, as well as an AACTA for Best Documentary.
He has since made three hard hitting, critically acclaimed and high ratings series – The Life And Trials Of Oscar Pistorius (ESPN/BBC 2020), Football's Darkest Secret (BBC 2021) and FIFA Uncovered (Netflix 2022)
Most recently his feature documentary ‘STRIKE: An Uncivil War’ premiered at Sheffield Docfest, winning the Audience Award and has been screened in over 100 British cinemas.

Michael Donald worked alongside Dan during the making of Strike to produce the book, An Uncivil War. The Battle of Orgreave.
Michael began his career as a press photographer with Reuters in London in the 1990s. His work has been exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery, the Museum of London and galleries in LA, New York and Paris. His commissions include cover shoots for The Sunday Times Magazine, the Guardian Weekend Magazine, the Telegraph Magazine and the New York Times.
He conceived of the idea in 2010 of interviewing every living footballer that had ever scored a goal in a FIFA World Cup Final. The outcome was a Sports EMMY nominated film he made with Dan Gordon and the book was the official gift for the delegates at the FIFA World Cup Draw win the Russia an 2014, which was translated into five languages.
Michael shot the portrait for Leonard Cohen’s last book.
He has worked on many documentaries and recently directed the highly acclaimed film Blitzed; The 80s Blitz Kids Story, for Sky Arts.
He is the only person to have shot individual portraits of all of the members of the Rolling Stones in the last thirty years, with whom he has an ongoing relationship.
