László Moholy-Nagy portrait

 

László Moholy-Nagy (1895-1946) was a Hungarian artist and designer, a Bauhaus master a true pioneer in the fields of painting, sculpture, film, photography, graphic, theatrical and exhibition design. He escaped Nazi Germany in 1936 and came to live at the Isokon. He produced an extraordinary range of work during his time in England, including a logo and promotional material for the Isokon Furniture company, before departing for the USA in 1937 to become Director of the New Bauhaus.
